Gwendolyn Masin & Faruk Kalaycı — “Pendulum” Innovative violinist Gwendolyn Masin and award-winning pianist Faruk Kalaycı perform at the 23rd Gümüşlük Music Festival with their programme Pendulum. Gwendolyn Masin, a versatile artist and founder of the GAIA Music Festival, has appeared as soloist with leading orchestras including the Irish Symphony and Bern Symphony orchestras, and is known for her dynamic artistic vision and wide-ranging international career. She is joined by Faruk Kalaycı, an award-winning pianist who has performed internationally, released his debut album Divine (KNS Classical), and is currently pursuing his Master’s at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a Fulbright scholar. Their programme brings together key works of the violin–piano repertoire, spanning Bach, Mozart, Biber, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns and Ravel, alongside Philip Glass’s Pendulum. The selection traces contrasting musical worlds—from Baroque structures to Romantic intensity and contemporary minimalism—highlighting both virtuosity and dialogue between the two instruments.
